A Supplier Diversity Program is a business program that encourages using minority, veteran, women, or historically underutilized companies as suppliers.

This type of program is offered by federal, state, and local government agencies for businesses owned and operated by those who would typically be underrepresented. However, Supplier Diversity Programs go far beyond the Government sector.

Large corporations such as banks, universities, and manufacturers have developed programs to advance diversity throughout their supply chain. It is a worthy cause to give spending to businesses that would usually not receive it.
