SAM.gov Makes Massive Changes to Website

SAM.gov, the home to self-register your entity to sell to the government, has merged with beta.SAM.gov, creating chaos for contracting officers, Government specialists, and businesses alike.

Now acting as one site, the changes to several functions have made user experience even more challenging. Upon entering the website, a warning pops up in an attempt to help users. However, this warning gives little information about how to operate.

SAM.gov said the following changes were brought together from both SAM.gov and beta.SAM.gov.

From SAM.gov

  • Entity registration
  • Exclusions
  • Entity reporting (SCR and BioPreferred)
  • Disaster response registry

From beta.SAM.gov

  • Contract opportunities
  • Contract data reports
  • Wage determinations
  • Assistance listings
  • Federal hierarchy
